I will fight for any cause that needs attention, says Lushin Dubey, who's
here for a solo 'Performance
She can be credited with revolutionising children's theatre in India with
her kids' theatre group `Kids World'. She has also mastered almost all
Shakespearean productions, acted in several serials and was recently seen
in the perfect Husband. Lushin Dubey has had her share of fame, but she
says she's "not desperately after anything." Dubey's here for a solo performance,
based on Dario Fo's 'Medea' and a Tory by Vijaydan Detha.
"I will fight for any cause that needs attention," she says assertively.
The next moment, she describes her solo performance to be Militant.' "No,
I am not a feminist, though the play about the plight of women. But I
do believe Flat only we, women, can make a difference," she reasons. And
good theatre , believes Lushin, is medium that can have a lasting effect,
at the same time not denying her friendliness with TV. Children's theatre
is my passion, kids are the most honest and truthful performers and have
no ego," she says. As a director, Lushin has a habit of channelising what
she `sniffs'. The rest is done by her restless fingers, creating characters
at will. "I love anything that involves fingers-painting, embroidery,
puppetry and now sculptures," smiles Lushin.
